Dr. Anyu Liu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Hospitality, Hotel Management, and Tourism at Texas A&M University. His research focuses on applied economics in tourism and hospitality, with expertise in tourism and hotel demand modelling, policy assessment and forecasting, and big data analytics. Dr. Liu has led and contributed to numerous research projects funded by prominent agencies, including the Asian Development Bank, the Pacific Asia Travel Association, and Innovate UK. He has also collaborated with international organizations such as the European Commission, UNWTO, the World Travel and Tourism Council, local tourism bureaus in China, and major theme parks. In addition to his research contributions, Dr. Liu plays an active role in the academic community. He serves as Associate Editor of Annals of Tourism Research Empirical Insights, Chair of the International Institute of Forecasters’ Tourism and Hospitality Section and sits on the editorial boards of several leading journals in the field.
