Robert Huy Gip, Ph.D., currently holds the position of ACES Assistant Professor within the Department of Hospitality, Hotel Management and Tourism at Texas A&M University. His academic and professional journey is characterized by a solid educational background, industry experience, and research achievements. He completed his doctoral studies at the Conrad N. Hilton College of Global Hospitality Leadership. During this time, he also served as an instructor for Human Resource Management for Hospitality.
Before pursuing his Ph.D., he accumulated over eight years of industry experience in various roles within the hospitality, hotel, and events sectors. These practical experiences have been invaluable in shaping his perspective as an educator and researcher. His research contributions encompass article publications in respected journals that include The Service Industries Journal, Journal of Service Management, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Research and Journal of Human Resources in Hospitality & Tourism.
Additionally, he authors several working papers covering the areas of human resources, organizational behavior, leadership, employees’ health and well-being and cross-cultural and community research. His commitment to academic engagement involves participating in various conferences where he has presented his research findings. He also serves as a member of the editorial board for the international journal of Tourism, Culture & Communication, and is an ad-hoc reviewer for the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, International Journal of Hospitality Management, Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Management and International Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Administration.
