Hospitality, Hotel Management and Tourism Minors

As of August 15th, 2023, the department name “Recreation, Park and Tourism Sciences” changed to “Hospitality, Hotel Management and Tourism”. Students who have already officially declared and are enrolled in an RPTS minor will have the opportunity to complete their minor. No new students will be enrolled in the RPTS Minor. The Youth Development Minor is now housed in the Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication. Two 18-credit minors are offered in HMGT.

Tourism Management (TMGT)

Course selections under each minor are for the newest TAMU catalog. We will honor all course options on the new minors; adjustments (substitutions) may need to be submitted.

Eligibility

We do not have an application, deadlines, or a cap on eligibility hours. As long as you are a current undergraduate student at Texas A&M University you are eligible to pursue our minors.  Declaration of minor is made in the student’s home college or major department. Some colleges and departments outside HMGT may not permit their students to declare a minor.

Satisfactory Completion of Courses

To be awarded the minor in RMGT or TMGT and receive transcript recognition, students must obtain a grade of “C” or better in each course used in the degree.
