Professional Summary
Jim Miculka currently serves as the Volunteer Partnership Coordinator with the Office of Interpretation, Education and Volunteers in the Washington DC Support Office (headquarters for the National Park Service) being duty stationed with the Department of Hospitality, Hotel Management and Tourism at Texas A&M University. He serves as the liaison between the National Park Service and the Department. He is responsible for building nation-wide partnerships with the private and government sectors to support volunteerism in the National Park Service.
He also serves as the National Program Coordinator for the Amtrak – National Park Service Trails & Rails and Rails Partnership, coordinating onboard interpretive programs across the Amtrak System. He served as the Director of Interpretation and Resource Management for Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve for nearly 15 years.
He also served as the Coordinator of Park Planning and as the coordinator of the park’s Submerged Cultural Resources Team mapping shipwrecks across the Pacific while duty station for ten years at the War in the Pacific National Historical Park on the island of Guam.
