Professional Summary

Dr. Taheri is a Full Professor at Texas A&M University in the Department of Hospitality, Hotel Management & Tourism. Prior to joining Texas A&M University, he held a number of academic and research leadership positions at Durham University, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow Caledonian University, Heriot Watt University, and Nottingham Trent University. He is also Honorary Professor of Marketing in Business School at University of Aberdeen. He has been visiting Prof at several universities such as University of Sassari; University of Agder; Dan Nang University; University of Central Florida; Rochester Institute of Technology. He has an established reputation in the marketing field with specific expertise in marketing management, consumer research, hospitality, tourism, leisure and cultural consumption. The innovative nature of his research traces to multidisciplinary work and to methodologically robust measurement and assessment of key concepts. Furthermore, he received extensive coverage in media outlets such as The Conversation, The Irish Times, Travel Daily News, and Esports News.

In recent years, Dr. Taheri has over 150 academic publications. He is Associate Editor of two journals: The Service Industries Journal and International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management. He serves on the editorial review board of several social science journals, such as the Journal of Business Research and Journal of Travel Research. He has edited several special issues in top-tier journals. He has given keynotes at several academic conferences and workshops in USA, Middle East, and UK. At an institutional level, he has provided academic leadership for several academic colleagues, supervised and graduated PhD students. He held funds from international bodies such as Horizon 2020 and Innovate UK Research Grant – KTP (over $3m). From a teaching and learning perspective, he has taught at different university levels including BSc, MSc, MBA and PhD. He uses interactive, experiential and engaging learning methods in his teaching.
