HMGT Day

HMGT Day is the signature annual learning and engagement event hosted by the Arch H. Aplin III ’80 Department of Hospitality, Hotel Management and Tourism at Texas A&M University. Rooted in Texas A&M’s land-grant mission and commitment to experiential education, HMGT Day connects students, faculty, alumni, advisory board members and industry partners through a series of student-focused activities.

These activities include:

HMGT Day serves as an important venue for industry feedback, partnership development, and workforce connection, reinforcing the department’s commitment to experiential learning, industry relevance and professional preparation.

Opening Doors Power Hour

The Opening Doors Power Hour is a high‑impact opportunity for leading hospitality and tourism companies to engage directly with the next generation of HMGT (Hospitality, Hotel Management and Tourism) talent. This intentionally designed, come‑and‑go mixer creates a relaxed environment where employers can build authentic relationships with students who are eager to learn, connect and explore career pathways.

Opening Doors for Future Leaders Career Fair

The Opening Doors Career Fair is an opportunity for students to network and seek full-time, part-time and internship positions with leaders in the hospitality and tourism industry.

Unity Dinner

Unity Dinner is a formal community-building and recognition event. Serving as a cornerstone of departmental engagement, the dinner brings together students, faculty, alumni, advisory board members, donors and industry partners to celebrate excellence and shared commitment to the HMGT mission.

The event features the recognition of distinguished award recipients and the presentation of student scholarships, acknowledging academic achievement, leadership, service and the generous support of donors and partners.
